CSC announces new president of cloud computing and software services

CSC has named Siki Giunta vice president of cloud computing and software services, with global responsibility for implementing CSC’s cloud computing strategy and continuing to advance the company’s leadership position in cloud services. Giunta will report to Russ Owen, president of CSC’s Managed Services Sector, and will also work closely with Brian Boruff who launched CSC’s cloud computing services 16 months ago, successfully establishing CSC as a leader in the emerging market of cloud computing. Boruff has been promoted to CSC’s vice president of Emerging Technologies and Strategic Growth Markets.

“Siki brings to CSC a fresh perspective, years of experience, and recognized industry leadership in using emerging technologies to successfully transform business organizations, instill agility, foster innovation and reach new levels of competitiveness,” said Owen. “Our clients — as well as CSC — will benefit enormously from her expertise.”

Giunta will head CSC’s newly-formed Trusted Cloud and Hosting Business Group. She will use cloud capabilities to extend the company’s strength in consulting, systems design and integration, and cybersecurity, while driving the SaaS-enablement of CSC’s portfolio of industry solutions.

“Siki is another proof point of CSC’s commitment to being a leader in the growth market of cloud computing,” said Owen. “By merging our hosting and cloud data center businesses under Siki, we are better equipped to offer innovative Trusted Cloud Services options to fit the emerging business requirements of new and existing clients. Her extensive experience will be an asset to CSC as we continue to help clients make the most strategic and practical business use of the cloud model.”

Prior to joining CSC, Giunta was president and CEO of Fortisphere; president and CEO of Managed Objects, where she helped create the Business Service Management software market category; vice president of strategic business for Novell; and a senior vice president at Computer Associates. She has more than 20 years of international operations, marketing and sales experience and will be sharing her insights on CSC cloud and hosting progress and overall industry developments on CSC’s trustedcloudservices.com social media site.

Giunta holds degrees from De Vedruna College in Rome, Italy, and the Sorbonne, Paris, France.
