Cloud Computing Providers serve More Than Just Servers: Top Cloud Computing Players to watch in 2009-2010

The Internet today plays an important part in making communication and exchange of information convenient and more efficient.  Through the Internet, data storage and maintenance are made possible by The Cloud, which is the collection of information that is used in business and other purposes.  Availing of cloud computing services from cloud computing providers is a top choice for all businesses that are particular with the fulfillment of their cloud computing needs.

Cloud computing pertains to the use of the Internet for purposes that involve computations and other applications to be executed.  Utilizing distant servers while doing computational work is one aspect of cloud computing that is very significant in the development of businesses.  For instance, companies opt for cloud computing instead of hosting their basic business processes because it proves to be faster when done on the Internet, and is also cheaper than buying their own software and computers.  Cloud computing providers see this as an advantage for them because they are capable of hosting multiple clients, and can provide remote servers to a large number of users.  Cloud computing vendors often make a data center that holds all the information for their client, and in turn provide data storage and management services.  Cloud computing vendors ensure a secure and safe connection for private businesses, which makes cloud computing more reliable in dealing with information and data that are to be processed.

The cloud computing market has a lot of available cloud computing providers from which users may choose from, depending on the needs that their businesses pose. For instance, there are cloud computing vendors that are dedicated to the sales and marketing industry, so businesses of this type might take full advantages of their services.  Some cloud computing vendors offer storage and processing of data free of charge, but with specific storage limits, while some render their services at a very low cost, giving the users superb but inexpensive cloud computing services.

Choosing from a wide range of providers in the cloud computing market is rather tricky, and should be done with great care and radical thinking.  It is of the business’ best interest to make their applications and data readily available through the Internet without compromising other factors such as security and storage capacity.  With this, cloud computing vendors make use of high-end facilities that house their servers and digital devices that are used in cloud computing.

All cloud computing providers take into consideration the fact that stored data are very integral for business processes, and should be kept safe at all times.  This means virtual and physical safety, both in the hardware and software used for all applications.  Servers in remote locations are kept in infrastructures that are resistant to fire and other physical damage, while connections to the Internet are protected from access of other unauthorized users by ensuring secure and password-protected data centers, as well as blocking viruses that may corrupt their systems.

The cloud computing market caters to all businesses, whether it is for sales or for process-specific purposes.  Regardless of how it is used, cloud computing services help make one’s business prosper by utilizing The Cloud in its entire splendor.

Oracle Grid Update Tied to Emerging Cloud Trend

Oracle Grid Update Tied to Emerging Cloud Trend

In-memory data grids store information that applications need in memory across a pool of servers, instead of reading it off disks, resulting in major performance gains. The Coherence product is one of the more mature in a space occupied by offerings from IBM as well as smaller companies like GigaSpaces and a number of open-source projects. Microsoft is also developing a system dubbed “Velocity.” o date, such systems have breathed rarefied air, mostly supporting large-scale Web sites and high-throughput transactional systems, such as stock trading applications. The in-memory data grid market in total generated less than US$100 million in revenue during 2008, according to Gartner, which prefers the term “distributed caching platforms.

But some observers believe that in-memory approaches to data management could eventually gain serious traction in cloud-computing deployments. The technologies would help applications that weren’t originally designed for elastically scalable infrastructure systems like Amazon Web Services to run more effectively, albeit “via some re-engineering,” Gartner analyst Massimo Pezzini said in a recent report. Beyond vendor trepidation, other factors stand in the way of broader customer adoption, such as the complexity of deploying and managing the systems and limited support from systems integrators and ISVs, according to Pezzini.

New Version of its Cloud Computing Framework Launched by GigaSpaces.

We wanted to wait until we had some real customers and partners behind the platform in production before spreading the word on a larger scale. And now, I am very happy to report that we have reached this point sooner than expected and just in time for the JavaOne event. The new version includes an enhanced integration with the Amazon billing system Devpay designed to enable users to use GigaSpaces as a service on a true pay per use model. All you need is an Amazon account and your done. Unlike other products, that are offered in similar fashion, we decided not to provide just a bundle of our software packed in an Amazon image (AMI) but instead provide a more tight integration with EC2 that will enable our users to use a single GigaSpaces product for all GigaSpaces versions as well as customize the installation to include their own software packages and application code on the fly.

Users that are looking to try out the new XAP product can now do that for free without the need to download or install anything. This will enable you to try out any of the built-in examples, test the high availability features and run benchmarks in just one click. The new version includes lots of additional improvements to the user experience as well as new features and bug fixes. Those that will be visiting JavaOne this week will be able to join the hands-on labs session and experience a full deployment of JEE application using CCF. You will also be able to gain insight from one of our customers, Primatics Financial on how they used CCF to build their Risk Management application as a service.
