SuccessFactors’ Vice President of Cloud Computing, Tom Fisher, to present on an executive panel at the inaugural Business Cloud Summit 2009

Mr. Fisher will participate on a panel at 16:30 GMT entitled, “The Great Cloud Debate” with additional C-level executives from within the industry, moderated by Stuart Lauchlan, editor of online publication, BusinessCloud9.

Tom Fisher joined Success Factors as Vice President of Cloud Computing in 2009. Mr. Fisher is responsible for the company’s Cloud initiatives, its Application Programming Interface (API’s) programme, supporting third party developers and Cloud to Cloud integration.

SuccessFactors, Inc., a provider of on-demand performance and talent management solutions, announced one of the world’s largest enterprise cloud deployments of 300,000 users by one of the world’s largest retailers.

In addition, SuccessFactors said it has named former eBay Executive and cloud visionary Tom Fisher as Vice President of Cloud Computing, who will lead the company’s cloud strategy and initiatives.

Former VP of Technology Strategy and acting CTO at eBay, technology industry veteran and cloud visionary Tom Fisher will lead SuccessFactors’ Cloud strategy and third party developer programs.

According to a release, Fisher’s extensive experience includes executive positions at:

- Stratoform - Co-founded and helped develop the first multi-tenant Cloud application environment.

- DriveCam - CIO and Senior Vice President of one of the first and largest Microsoft based SaaS applications.

- Qualcomm - Vice President of IT for the largest fabless semi-conductor in the world managing both business and engineering systems globally. Worldwide responsibility for the business and engineering systems that support semiconductor and global positioning businesses.

- eBay - VP of Architecture and IT Strategy and acting CTO - Managed the development and replacement of eBay’s underlying infrastructure and established the first of its kind Developers Program in the internet including managing the development of externally callable set of APIs. Program has over 2000 members.

- Gateway - Chief Architect - Led the creation of a Global Architecture organization at Gateway.
